Order a CD or MP3

using PayPal

Are you are looking for a favorite old children's record? If it's on 78-rpm, there is a 90% chance that I have it! Copyright permitting, you can CDs by mail or MP3 downloads. These recordings are intended for personal use only, and are not for commercial reissue. See below to determine how to calculate the price of an order, as well as how to place the order and pay for it.

To see if I have a specific record in my collection, just click on the following link to the new KIDDIE REKORD SEARCH.  Here you will be able to locate any record in my database by using key words such as title, artist, record label, or even single words or phrases. Even though I have the great majority of the titles listed, you will need to contact me prior to ordering just to make sure that I actually have it in my collection. In the list that is generated from the search, there is a column which shows "# of records". If you multiply this number by "two", you will be able to determine the total number of sides in your order (except in those cases where the title in question takes up only one side--I will confirm such information in an email to you.)

I use state of the art CD burning (recording) and phonograph equipment. CDs and MP3s are digital "images" of the audio track of the original record. I do not employ the use of audio restoration software since I want to recreate the sounds as close as possible to what you remember from your childhood. In any case, I rarely get a request for audio cleanup. If desired, you can process the digital audio track through any available software program to "restore" it. Having said that, most of my records are in fine condition. Please keep in mind that inherent in old 78s are surface noises, such as hiss, clicks and pops. Any occasional skip or hang up in the record will be noted in your order, or prior to your order being shipped. CDs hold 80 minutes of recording time. Alternatively, as stated above, I can provide you with a link to download the MP3 files directly from my Website; or I can sen you email attachments (if the files are not too large).

Please note that all of my records are 78 rpms (and a few early 45s). If you are looking for an LP (33 1/3 rpm), (with the exception of about a dozen in my collection) I won't have it in my collection. If you own LPs that you would like to convert to CDs, I can provide this service at the LP rate.

In addition to making recordings, copyright permitting, I offer laser color images and laminations of the covers, inside liners, attached book pages, etc. See below for prices and specifications.

    Prices:

  • CDs and MP3s: $7 per record side, copyright permitting. This is the price for recordings made from 78 rpm or 45 rpm records. S&H is extra. Minimum order is 2 sides. LPs (33 1/3 rpm) are $35 for both sides.

Important: Unless you know for sure, before ordering please check with me first to determine total number of sides that will be in your order. Prices for CDs are based on the number of record sides recorded from, not on how many CDs are made. CDs hold 80 minutes of recording time. 78-rpm record sides play for about 2 to 4 minutes per side on average. By using the Kiddie Rekord Search, you can determine the number of records for any title listed. Multiply the number of records by TWO and you get the number of record sides for that title. NOTE: many songs will take up only side of a record. Contact me first to verify correct number of sides for your potential order.

  • RECORD COVER REPRODUCTIONS (two options: hard copy or JPG)

Hard Copy: $5 per image for color ($1 for black & white), copyright permitting. Laser color copies of record jackets & covers, liners, insert booklet pages, etc. The images are not printed on the CD itself. Reproduction copies are done on heavy coated paper stock. This gives them the look and feel of the original cover. Full size repros are suitable for laminating, framing, etc. See below for lamination details.

There are two size options for reproductions of record covers: 1) Actual (full) size of the original record cover. This size is suitable for laminations (see below) or framing. 2) CD case size. Fits into the front of a CD case. Please be aware that any small text on the original cover may be reduced to the point of making it difficult to read. The overall quality of the graphic design and color won’t be affected.

Important: When ordering color prints, please specify which size you want: CD case size or full size. You can order both sizes, if so desired.

JPGs (scans/digital photos): $3 per image, copyright permitting. These are hi-resolution color scans or digital photos and are delivered via email attachment. Ideal companion to audio tracks ordered as MP3s.

  • LAMINATIONS: $10 (up to 2 images per lam, placed back to back). The lamination charge is in addition to the color image charge. E.g. one color image laminated is $5 + $10. Two color images laminated back to back (in one lamination) would be $10 + $10. The two image lamination could consist of, for example, both the front and back of the record cover. NOTE: black and white Xeroxes are only $1. Laminations are a great idea for gifts or display.
  • Minimum order size: see above
  • Shipping & handling charges (CDs)/processing fees (MP3s): $6 and up per order.
  • Turnaround time: CD orders are usually shipped via 1st class or Priority mail (depending on the weight) within 10 to 14 days unless otherwise requested. MP3s usually can be sent via an email link within a week or less. If you need them sooner, just let me know. I do not charge extra for rush orders. I will process them on a "best efforts" basis. If you choose to have express delivery, such as FedEx, extra charges will apply.
  • Volume Discounts: 10% on orders over $100; 15% on orders over $200; 20% on orders over $300. Discount basis is amount before s&h. Volume discounts cannot be combined with Multiple Copy discounts.
  • Multiple Copy Discounts: Multiple identical copies of the same order are discounted at 50% off the original price of original orders totaling $35 or more before s&h. The discount applies to the CD portion only. It does not include laser color copies or laminations. Multiple copy discounts cannot be combined with volume discounts.

How To Tell Me What You Want To Order:

My Website is not set up as a shopping cart and check out. Before sending funds it will be necessary for you to know the correct price. The cost of CDs or MP3s is based on the number of record sides ordered. Refer to notes in previous paragraphs to see how this can be determined. As always, I will confirm the correct totals for you by email (or phone). I will tell you if the selections are available in my inventory. Then I need to know what options, if any, you want (color images, laminations, etc.). Discounts may be available as well, so these have to be figured in. So, please contact me before ordering.

How To Place And Pay For An Order:

Payment is in US funds only.

Credit card (only available online through PayPal). This is my preferred method. A direct link to my PayPal account is found by clicking on the PayPal logo near the top of this page or directly below. You don't even have to sign up with PayPal to make a payment through them. PayPal is a very safe and secure process these days, maybe more so than swiping your Credit Card at a store, or giving the number verbally over the phone. In the PayPal payment form, just put in the lump sum total. Important note: Use the text box that says "add special instructions to the seller" to include details of what you are ordering. This information will also have been covered in previous emails and/or phone calls between us. This box will appear just before the final PayPal step (before finalzing the transaction).

Checks/money orders: I am happy to take personal checks or money orders. Checks should be made payable to: Peter Muldavin. Mail to: 173 W. 78th St., New York, NY 10024
